The Royals = The name of the students in Ghana who are singing on this track (pictured above).
100% of the proceeds go directly to their school.
In 2012, Will taught music at a school in Accra, Ghana (arranged by Africa Live!). At the end of class one day a few "Royals"eagerly started chanting "Uncle Willy blow your trumpet!". Before long others joined in with their voices and percussion, leading to an all out party. With no other option, Will of course joined them on trumpet. With a hand-held recorder, samples from the experience were captured. Will finished the track at his studio in San Francisco, CA as a benefit for their school.
100% of the proceeds go directly to the Covenant Academy. The families of students cannot always afford the $35/per trimester tuition. Small donations are a VERY significant amount of money for this school in West Africa!
Big thanks to Miriam Rose, Cary Sulivan, Rocky Dawuni, Africa Live!, Stephen Papanii Lartey, Julie Pollock, Martha Dodoo, and of course all of the children for lending their voices and inspiration!
